The sides of Harley Abrams and Austin Quinten, and Taylor Wallner and Zach Claxton advanced to the U.S. Men’s Four-Ball Championship on Oct. 18 at Big Creek Golf and Country Club.
Gipson shot a 3-under 68 at Pleasant Valley Country Club Thursday and then won a 3-man playoff, while Nichols’ 69 was good for a 3-shot victory.
The two high school seniors teamed up to card a 5-under-par 65 on Fayetteville Country Club’s par-70 layout on Thursday, Oct. 5.
Will Gordon, a high school junior from Hot Springs, played in both the U.S. Junior Am and the Junior PGA Championship, and Connor Gaunt, a grad student at LSU from Cabot, made it to the round of 16 at the U.S. Am.
