Golfers from all around the country are preparing to tee off for the 69th U.S. Senior Amateur. Each state and numerous golf associations have hosted senior qualifying events over the past year to fill the field.
From Arkansas, Kurt Reither of Bella Vista will represent the state, having qualified with the ASGA at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock. In the field of 12 playing for one spot, Reither was the only player under par, shooting a five-under 67.
The first 36 holes of the tournament are arguably the most important as they are in stroke play format and determine who moves on to the match play portion of the event. Once match play begins, players will battle it out until just one champion is left standing.
The tournament will begin on Saturday, August 24. Reither will start his tournament on the No. 10 tee at 1:10 pm (CDT). His second round will begin on the No. 1 tee at 8:10 am (CDT). To follow along with Reither and the rest of the field click HERE.
We wish Kurt the best of luck and know he will represent Arkansas well!
