Johnny Morris, founder of Big Cedar Lodge and its five golf courses has been named recipient of the 40th Old Tom Morris Award presented by the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America (GCSAA). Morris will receive the award February 9 at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in Orlando, Florida.
Hot Springs Country Club hosted an innovative environmental education outreach program that uses golf courses as environmental learning labs, led by Superintendent Trey Rutledge, a recent Arkansas Golf Hall of Fame Inductee and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Arkansas.

Meet Billy Fryar, the outgoing athlete who uses a custom titanium manual wheelchair, handcycle, basketball chair, and adaptive golf cart. Billy is an avid competitive golfer and has been involved in various Action events through the years. Having used a wheelchair for nearly twenty-two years, Billy highlights the importance of his wheelchair as an extension of his body and a positive reflection of his character. One of his recent events was the Inaugural USGA Adaptive Open Championship held at Pinehurst, North Carolina at Pinehurst #6 Golf Course.
