Gipson shot a 3-under 68 at Pleasant Valley Country Club Thursday and then won a 3-man playoff, while Nichols’ 69 was good for a 3-shot victory.
The two high school seniors teamed up to card a 5-under-par 65 on Fayetteville Country Club’s par-70 layout on Thursday, Oct. 5.
Will Gordon, a high school junior from Hot Springs, played in both the U.S. Junior Am and the Junior PGA Championship, and Connor Gaunt, a grad student at LSU from Cabot, made it to the round of 16 at the U.S. Am.
Melissa Holland, Nora Phillips, Kim Robinson, Rebecca Huber, Brent Cook, Wes McNulty, Greg Connell, and Ben Loftis took home top honors in their respective divisions Sunday at Ponce de Leon Golf Club in Hot Springs Village.
