The road to the 2019 U.S. Open is underway in Arkansas at Hot Springs Country Club, the only local qualifying site in the state. Arkansas natives, Mason Overstreet and Mitchell Ford secured two of only five spots in the 80-player field. They will move on to sectional qualifying at one of the twelve hosting sites around the country. Of those 80 players, 41 were from Arkansas.
Ladies of the ASGA played in our second tournament of the season at the 2-Lady Scramble on April 23-24 at DeSoto Golf Club in Hot Springs Village. Thirty teams competed in this annual event featuring a shotgun start both days of the tournament. Teams were divided into three flights for day two based on first-round scoring. Participants also enjoyed lunch and refreshments in addition to 18 holes of golf each day.
The Alotian Club, one of America's premier golf clubs, will host the 23rd playing of the Arnold Palmer Cup June 7-9. The annual Ryder Cup style competition will be the first to be played in the United States expanded to include men and women USA collegiate golfers against their counterparts from around the world.
TEXARKANA, Ark (April 1st, 2019) –This past weekend, smiles and high-fives were endless as 68 junior golfers kicked off the tournament season at the Junior Four-Ball Championship. Two years in the making, this was the first year for the event to be held and was hosted by Texarkana Country Club at their premier 18 hole golf course. Participants enjoyed lunch and refreshments in addition to 18 holes of golf each day.
