After careful consideration and a collaborative review, the Arkansas State Golf Association, in conjunction with Central Links Golf (Kansas), Missouri Golf Association, and the Oklahoma Women’s Golf Association made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Women’s Fore States Cup Matches scheduled for August 2-4 at Canyon Farms Golf Club in Lenexa, KS.
Ultimately, the safety of all participants was the utmost concern of all organizations involved. As much as each participating state would have loved to continue the long standing competition, it was agreed that the safety of all competitors needed to come first during these unprecedented times. “It is a disappointment for everyone who has worked towards qualifying for this year’s team” said Bryant Fortin, ASGA Director of Women’s Golf “Fore States is a great event that has a long standing history and it was a difficult decision for everyone to make”
The Women’s Fore States Cup rotation will continue as normal for 2021, with Missouri being the host state. Canyon Farms Golf Club (2020 host site) has indicated an interest in hosting the event in the future.
