The Arkansas State Golf Association kicked off its 2025 tournament schedule with the conclusion of its first event, the ASGA Two-Man Scramble at Hot Springs Country Club.
The two-day tournament, held from Saturday, March 8 to Sunday, March 9, featured play on the Park Course and the Arlington Course.
A record 108 golfers from across the state competed in the tournament, which was divided into two divisions, the Champions division and the Age-Appropriate division, each contesting a scramble best-ball format. In the Age-Appropriate division, golfers played from tees corresponding to their age group.
The competition was intense throughout the weekend. In the Champions division, Brice Howard and Christian Woods prevailed after a dramatic finish on the 18th green. Tied with runners-up Tyler Reynolds and Beau Glover, Howard chipped in from just off the green for an eagle to secure a one-stroke victory. In the Age-Appropriate division, Chris Jenkins and Stan Payne emerged from a three-way tie early in the final round to win by four strokes.
“We are excited to launch the 2025 tournament season,” said ASGA executive director Carson Roberts. “We extend our sincere thanks to Hot Springs Country Club, Director of Golf Barry Howard, and all of our players for making this event a success. We look forward to welcoming everyone back throughout the season.”
