The Arkansas State Golf Association (ASGA) is excited to announce that the minimum age for the Men’s Mid-Amateur Division will now be lowered to 25 years old. Along with this change, the ASGA is thrilled to announce that Lumber 1 Home Center will become the presenting sponsor of the Men's and Women's Mid-Amateur Championship.
Lowering the Mid-Amateur division age to 25 reflects the ASGA’s commitment to growing the game of golf and fostering a more inclusive competitive environment. By welcoming younger players into this prestigious division, the ASGA aims to bridge the gap between collegiate and amateur golf, offering a valuable opportunity for talented golfers to continue their development and compete at a high level. This change aligns with trends in the broader golf community and brings fresh energy and enthusiasm to one of the ASGA’s most celebrated championships, ensuring its legacy remains vibrant for future generations.
The Mid-Amateur division has long been a premier showcase for some of the best golfers in Arkansas, and the ASGA is proud to partner with Lumber 1 Home Center to uphold the legacy of this great division. In 2025, the Mid-Amateur Division Championship will be held separately from the ASGA’s other stroke play championships, giving it a distinct platform to celebrate the skill and camaraderie of mid-amateur golfers. The championship will also return to Chenal Country Club, where the first-ever ASGA Mid-Amateur Championship was held, further highlighting the division’s rich history. Lumber 1’s partnership exemplifies their dedication to the community and to growing the game of golf in Arkansas, ensuring this event continues to inspire and engage players of all levels.
