Brooks Morgan, who completed a six-month United States Golf Association (USGA) P.J. Boatwright Internship for the ASGA in 2018, was added to the ASGA Staff January 1st. His role as Director of Member Services will include handing the financial affairs of the association, coordinating the volunteer course-rating teams and assisting the staff, member clubs, PGA Professionals and Board of Directors in all areas related to the ASGA's core services.
A native of Heber Springs, Morgan graduated from Harding University in May 2018 with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. While at Harding, he served as equipment manager for the football team and gained valuable experience in the industry as a student assistant in the Sports Information Department. His father, Billy Morgan, is the "voice of the Bisons" and handles the radio assignments for the football, basketball, baseball and softball teams.
Tyler Meyl, who will graduate from the University of Arkasnas in May with a degree in agricultural business and recreational sport administration, has been hired as a six-month USGA Intern after completing the same role for three months in 2018.
His background includes working at Paradise Valley Athletic Club in Fayetteville, where he was responsible for day-to-day activities, including scheduling, management of the outside services staff and tournament administration. Meyl will begin his internship with the ASGA in early May adn his duties include assisting in tournament administration, membership promotion - specifically in the area of junior golf - and working with the PGA Chapter.
Brianna Sellers has joined the ASGA team as a Boatwright Intern specializing in communications and public relations. An August 2018 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Communications degree, her responbilities include photographic assignments at tournaments and events, writing news releases, media outreach and overall promotion of the ASGA brand.
Sellers has three years of experience in public and media relations, including graphic and visual design, strategic communication planning and event management. A native of Texarkana, Texas, she has recently moved to Little Rock. She began part-time in early March and her four-month internship begins April 6.
Both Meyl and Sellers will attend the Boatwright Orientation Summit at USGA's Golf House May 20-23. All expense for travel and lodging are furnished by the USGA.
Taylor Loeb, who is expected to graduate in December 2019 from Henderson State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management, will join the ASGA in early June as a two-month intern. As a member of the Women's Golf Team, she has played in every tournament since her freshmen year while maintaining a 3.5 cumulativd GPA. She was named freshman of the year for the Great American Conference (GAC), named to the Academic Team and has also earned All-Conference and other GAC honors. Loeb also made the 2018-2019 Dean's List.
Her previous summer work experience includes pro shop sales representative at Pleasant Valley Country Club, where she handled the Point of Sale (POS) System, managed the tee times and other customer relations activites working with the staff and membership. A native of Maumelle, Loeb graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy in May 2016, and her primary duties with the ASGA will be in the area of women's golf.
