The 2024 Southern Junior Cup has wrapped up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (Aug. 1, 2024) - The 2024 edition of the Southern Junior Cup has concluded at the RTJ Fighting Joe Course with Team Alabama winning on their home turf. Team Arkansas was unable to capture the title coming in at No. 2 in the final points standings.
The format of the tournament is in Ryder Cup fashion with teams from Alabama, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas competing in three rounds; a four-ball format, alternating shots, and singles matches.
Round One:
The first round of the Southern Junior Cup was the four-ball format. Team Arkansas started the tournament with some incredible golf, winning all but one of their matches. The match that was not won still came down to the very last hole. Three groups for Arkansas won their matches 3 and 2.
Round One Points Standings:
- Arkansas: 5 pts
- Missouri: 4 pts
- Alabama: 2 pts
- Oklahoma: 0 pts
Round Two:
Round two of the Southern Junior Cup was just after the first round and a short break for the players to hydrate and grab some lunch. Team Arkansas regressed only slightly in this round. Three of the six groups won their matches. Which was plenty enough to keep Arkansas at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final round. Oklahoma on the other hand, still struggled in the second round as at the conclusion, the team still had zero total points. Alabama also was able to find some rhythm as they headed into the final round close behind Arkansas and Missouri.
Round Two Points Standings:
- Arkansas: 8 pts
- Missouri: 8 pts
- Alabama: 7 pts
- Oklahoma: 0 pts
Final Round:
The last day of the Southern Junior Cup had just one round of singles matches. At the start of the day Arkansas and Missouri were tied at eight points with Alabama just one point behind. The teams would have to compete fiercely as it was still anyone's game. Arkansas was able to capture only four points of the twelve total available in this round. Missouri was only able to capture three. Alabama though, had a dominating performance winning eight of their twelve matches catapulting them to the top of the leaderboard and an eventual win.
Round Three Points Standings:
- Alabama: 15.5 pts
- Arkansas: 12 pts
- Missouri: 12 pts
- Oklahoma: 7 pts
